Indonesian Customer Visited Our Factory for Ball Mill Liners Inspection
2026-05-20
Recently, TangShan Polarislink Advanced Materials Technology Co.,Ltd. welcomed an important customer from Indonesia to visit our factory and inspect the production process of ball mill liners. The customer mainly focuses on mining equipment maintenance and is looking for stable and reliable wear-resistant liner suppliers for long-term cooperation.
During the factory visit, we first showed the customer our molding workshop. Our team introduced the resin sand molding process used for large ball mill liners and explained how molding quality directly affects casting dimensions, surface finish, and internal structure stability. For large-size liners, precise molding is extremely important because poor cavity accuracy may cause installation gaps, bolt mismatch, or uneven wear during operation.
The customer also checked several unfinished high manganese steel liner castings on site. We explained the material grades commonly used for ball mill liners, including Mn13Cr2 and Mn18Cr2. Different materials are selected according to ore hardness, impact force, and grinding conditions. For abrasive ores such as granite or iron ore, higher manganese content and proper heat treatment can significantly improve service life.
After that, the customer visited our quality inspection department. We demonstrated our spectrometer analysis process for checking chemical composition before and after casting. Spectrometer testing helps ensure that manganese, carbon, chromium, and other key elements remain within standard ranges, which is critical for wear resistance and toughness performance.
In the metallographic inspection area, we introduced how metallographic testing is used to observe carbide distribution and grain structure inside the material. Proper metallographic structure helps reduce the risk of cracking, premature wear, and liner breakage during heavy-duty grinding operations. The customer showed strong interest in our laboratory capability and discussed several common wear problems they previously faced with other suppliers.
During the discussion, the customer mentioned that some liners purchased before had problems such as short service life, uneven wear, and bolt hole cracking. Our engineers analyzed the possible reasons, including improper material selection, unstable heat treatment, oversized feeding material, and incorrect mill operating conditions. We also shared several optimization suggestions based on actual mining applications.
Through this factory visit, the Indonesian customer gained a more direct understanding of our production process, inspection standards, and manufacturing capability. Factory inspection is not only about checking equipment, but also about verifying whether a supplier truly understands mining wear parts and can provide stable product quality.
TangShan Polarislink Advanced Materials Technology Co.,Ltd. continues to focus on manufacturing high-quality mining wear parts, including ball mill liners, crusher wear parts, shredder hammers, and other high manganese steel castings. More information is available at www.polarislink.net.
